Great service here
I have had on more than one occasion a great experience with the postal workers up at the front in Islip Terrace. My most recent experiences were when I was sending a jacket to a friend in Jersey and today when I was returning some items. Both times, the attendants could see I was not familiar with what packaging to use, etc. They saw me struggling and immediately offered aid. Both times I went to the post office during a week day mid-afternoon.
went to islip terrace post office because i never received a call from postmaster after requesting to talk to him about problems with missing mail and receiving other peoples mail. waited in line while other people were making complaints. same problem. spoke to postmaster, very nice, he explained was having difficulty with an employee and might have to write him up. was told my mail will be checked. yesterday i received my neighbors mail with clear address and identification. I called this number to complain and was informed their is over 1 hour hold time to speak to someone. this is the service you supply?
I was in the lobby filling out an envelope, and just as I turned to the counter to mail it out this woman said "we are closed". I said to her it's 5 on the dot, to which she replied "someone has to be turned away". Not an I'm sorry, or anything. Just "someone has to be turned away". It was 5 on the dot. So unbelievably rude and inconsiderate. I'm absolutely livid.
